I run a studio, and I build the software it runs on.
Gaurify started as an editing desk and turned into a company because the work kept exposing problems no tool solved properly. Four years, a thousand videos, and five products later, the through line has not changed: everything here was built by the people it failed in front of first.
the work
A thousand videos, and none of them on this page.
The reel belongs where the studio lives. This site is about what got built around the work, which is a different argument and needs a different room.
See the work at gaurifyproductions.comwhat I think
Volume beats taste, until it does not.
Nobody’s first hundred videos are good. The people who get somewhere are the ones who kept publishing long enough to develop judgement, and then had the sense to start using it.
The software should disappear.
I judge it by what is missing. Every screen that exists is a screen somebody has to learn, so the question is never what else it could do. It is what else it could stop asking.
Saying no is the product decision.
We turn down work that we cannot make good, at a cadence we cannot sustain, for people who want the cheapest version. Every one of those is a client someone else is delighted to take.
A real person has to be at the centre.
The whole industry is racing to put an AI in the middle and have people orbit it. That is backwards, and it will read as backwards in five years. The systems should orbit the person.
why each of these exists
None of it was a plan. All of it was a Tuesday.
I was editing other people’s videos and watching good work disappear because nobody had decided what the channel was for.
So the studio stopped selling edits and started selling the whole content side. The edit was never the bottleneck; the thinking in front of it was.

Every client asked the same question every week: where is my video. The answer lived in four places and none of them agreed. Then other studios started asking what we run on, and the honest answer was that it only ran us.
One room, one voice, one thing waiting on you. Not a project tool with our logo on it, a product that computes the next action so nobody has to maintain a board. It ran one studio until it was good enough to run anyone’s, and that is the version that is open now.

People kept coming to us to fix their editing when editing was the healthiest thing about their content. Telling them that on a sales call cost us the sale.
So we made it free and automatic. It scores six dimensions and names the real bottleneck, including the times the honest answer is that they do not need us.
- Gaurify Paper
planned
Every thinking tool I tried wanted to help. Suggestions, formatting bars, an assistant appearing halfway down the page.
A document that does nothing. The absence is the product, and it is much harder to build than the features it leaves out.
- Gaurify Profile
planned
Everyone I work with has their proof scattered across five platforms, none of which they own.
One surface that belongs to the person: the work, the writing, and a way through. Not a link tree with better type.
writing
The invoice never shows the expensive part
You price the editor. You do not price the eleven messages it took to get the edit approved.
The clients we turn down, and why
Saying no is not lost revenue. It is the thing that protects the work for everyone who stayed.
If you are building something and the content side is the part that keeps slipping, that is the conversation I like having.

If we have met, the card has the number on it.
